Hernandez Asstistant Professor, Psychology |

Arturo Hernandez became an experimental psychologist because of his interest in how people learn, process and use language. His research includes work with both monolingual and bilingual populations. “I am also interested in what areas of the brain are involved in processing language,” he says. Hernandez believes that his research interests make him a better teacher, and that his teaching makes him a better researcher. “I constantly update my classes,” he says, “and every year I include new information with regard to the latest developments in my field. Hence, students are learning about a topic as it is evolving.” And, Hernandez adds, he benefits as well. “Teaching gives me a chance to rethink my research from a broader, fresher perspective, because students come up with some fantastic and refreshing questions and issues.” |
